I am currently teaching

  1. a course for Master’s of Education students on behavioral ecology and how to perform behavioral experiments in the classroom (Summer)
  2. an elective course for BSc students on automated video tracking of animals with hands-on experience in tracking and data analysis (Winter)

During my PhD I co-taught various courses on ecology, evolution, animal (sexual behavior, and notably marine biology. I also participated in a seminar for better (= active) learning during my PhD and contributed to restructuring existing and creating new courses with these teaching principles in mind.

Mentoring

I am constantly mentoring Bachelor’s and Master’s thesis projects which are the basis for my publications. This way, the students gain real research experience and the opportunity for a publication co-authorship, and I gain lots of juicy data.

During my PhD work, I mentored 20 Undergraduate research assistants and 1 Highschool student (KEYS).
These students were instrumental in completing my PhD project, and they gained crucial research experience, technical skills, and knowledge about the process of science.
